New Delhi, August 18: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met with more than 100 leaders from the semiconductor and technology sectors during his recent visit to the United States. The meetings included multiple round-table discussions and one-on-one sessions. Patel presented Gujarat not just as an investment destination, but as a long-term strategic partner for technology, innovation, and supply chain development.
On the second day of his trip, the Chief Minister and his delegation engaged with leaders in artificial intelligence, edtech, healthtech, gaming, and deep tech. They discussed opportunities for investment, research, skill development, and business collaboration between American companies and the state.
Patel invited companies to participate in the upcoming “Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027” scheduled for January next year. He encouraged them to explore potential partnerships through business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings.
During discussions with semiconductor and technology leaders, Patel emphasized the potential to connect Silicon Valley’s technological capabilities with Gujarat’s industrial base. He stated that the state government is committed to developing a complete ecosystem for technology companies, encompassing everything from R&D and innovation to manufacturing and global expansion.
“The success of the next-generation technology hub will depend not only on innovation but also on the availability of essential facilities such as land, power, connectivity, capital, talent, and policy stability. Gujarat is ready to provide all these and facilitate technology-based investments,” Patel remarked.
The meetings also focused on the state’s ambition to strengthen its position in semiconductor manufacturing and emerging technologies. Gujarat is positioning itself as a key destination for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. The state government recently highlighted its rapid advancement as a hub for chip manufacturing, driven by policy stability, infrastructure, and ease of doing business.
Industry representatives praised Gujarat’s infrastructure, policy stability, expedited approval processes, and business-friendly approach. In a separate round-table meeting with leaders from AI, healthtech, edtech, and gaming, they discussed the emerging applications of artificial intelligence, generative AI, robotics, education technology, healthcare technology, and gaming.
Participants also considered the potential applications of these technologies in Gujarat. The discussions included generative AI models, such as large language models, and their use in advertising, content creation, video generation, and education.
Gaming was another key topic, where the Chief Minister and industry leaders explored opportunities to develop this sector in Gujarat. They discussed the potential linked to the Commonwealth Games and the possibility of strengthening the gaming ecosystem through supportive policies, innovation, and increased industry participation.
