Green Laboratory: Shri Sardar Nagar Primary School in Bharuch Sets an Example with Over 1,000 Trees

Bharuch, August 26: Shri Sardar Nagar Primary School in the Walia Taluka of Bharuch, Gujarat, is renowned as a ‘Green Laboratory’ in the region. The school boasts over 1,000 trees of various species, which not only help maintain a clean environment but also inspire children to engage in nature conservation.

The transformation of this school into a green institution is largely credited to retired teacher Kamlesh Kosamia, who dedicated 22 years to planting and nurturing these trees.

Teacher Dharmeshaben Arolia expressed her dream of making the school beautiful and eco-friendly. She has actively brought in and cared for a large number of plants. The school is a leading institution in our Eco Club, thanks to the efforts of former principal Kamlesh Kumar Kosamia. The current principal is continuing his legacy.

Former students fondly remember Kamlesh Kosamia’s dedication to the environment and frequently praise the school’s atmosphere and teachers.

Alumnus Ganga Vasava shared, “I studied here from grades 1 to 8. The environment is beautiful, and the teachers are excellent. My experience has been that the teachers are outstanding, and the students are very active.”

According to education department officials, the government is committed to promoting cleanliness and greenery in schools. This initiative fosters a love for nature in children, preparing them to become environmentally conscious citizens in the future.

Digiwijay Singh Rana, TPEO of Walia Taluka, noted that children are being educated about environmental protection, preparing them to be responsible citizens. These children are learning vital qualities from primary school, becoming aware of environmental issues. In the face of global warming, schools are being developed as green institutions to equip future generations.

With the escalating impacts of climate change and increasing pollution, Shri Sardar Nagar Primary School in Walia Taluka stands as a model for other schools. Here, children are not only learning academics but also the importance of environmental protection.
