New Delhi, May 2: The Greater Noida Authority held its 143rd board meeting, making significant decisions related to development, infrastructure, and public amenities. The board approved a balanced budget of ₹6,048 crores for the financial year 2026-27. Key decisions included the construction of new roads connecting the Ganga Expressway to the Noida Airport, the launch of an electric bus service, relief measures for flat buyers, and enhancements to fire safety.
The board’s budget for 2026-27 maintains equal income and expenditure. Approximately ₹1,150 crores will be allocated for land acquisition, while ₹2,176 crores will be spent on construction and development projects. Special emphasis will be placed on rural development, infrastructure, and sector growth. Notably, there will be no increase in water charges this year, providing significant relief to residents.
Additionally, a one-time settlement (OTS) scheme has been introduced for outstanding water bills, offering discounts of 40% until June 30, 30% until July 31, and 20% until August 31. The authority approved the construction of a 15 km road to connect the 105-meter road to the Ganga Expressway. A six-lane elevated road will also be built parallel to the dedicated freight corridor, benefiting local industries directly.
The OTS scheme applies to flat allottees ranging from EWS to 135 square meters, providing up to 80% interest relief on premium and lease deed delays. Furthermore, there will be a minor increase of 3.58% in allocation rates for all property types. The police and fire departments will receive land free of charge for up to 500 meters. To alleviate traffic congestion in the Pari Chowk area, a traffic management plan will be developed in collaboration with IIT Delhi.
Moreover, a new 220 kV power substation will be constructed in Ecotech-10, enhancing electricity supply for industries and surrounding areas. The meeting also approved the purchase of two hydraulic platforms, each 102 meters tall, for fire response in multi-story buildings, with an expenditure of around ₹100 crores. Additionally, 30 flats will be rented to the NDRF in the Omicron-1A sector for rapid disaster relief.
To promote public transport, 15 electric buses will operate on four routes, initially for six months. Under the legacy project policy, 40,570 flats have already been registered, providing relief to thousands of buyers. The authority also approved a carbon credit project, which will enhance revenue while promoting environmental conservation. The Meghalaya government has been allocated 8,000 square meters of land in the Tech Zone for the construction of a Meghalaya Bhawan.
A 350-bed ESI hospital will be established in Knowledge Park-5, improving healthcare facilities for workers and local residents. The decisions made in this board meeting are considered significant steps toward strengthening Greater Noida’s infrastructure, connectivity, housing, industry, and public services. In the coming times, these initiatives will directly benefit both the general public and investors.
