
New Delhi, December 2 – There is good news for gold and silver buyers. On Tuesday, prices of both precious metals witnessed a decline.
According to the India Bullion Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold has come down to Rs 1,27,593 per 10 grams from the earlier Rs 1,28,800 per 10 grams. This shows a decrease of Rs 1,207 per 10 grams in gold prices.
The price of 22-carat gold has reduced to Rs 1,16,875 per 10 grams from the previous Rs 1,17,981 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold price has decreased to Rs 95,695 per 10 grams from Rs 96,600 per 10 grams.
Compared to gold, silver prices witnessed a marginal decline. Silver prices dropped by Rs 530 to Rs 1,74,650 per kg from the earlier Rs 1,75,180 per kg.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) too, gold and silver prices showed a decline. Gold’s February 5, 2026 contract price decreased by 0.37 percent to Rs 1,30,175 and silver’s March 5, 2026 contract price fell by 1.20 percent to Rs 1,79,845.
International markets also saw a decline in gold and silver prices. However, they still remain close to their highest levels. On COMEX, gold was at $4,237.05 per ounce with a decline of 0.85 percent and silver was at $58.07 per ounce with a weakness of 1.80 percent.
According to a survey by global investment bank Goldman Sachs, 70 percent of investors expect gold prices to rise further by the end of 2026.
In the bank’s survey of 900 customers, 36 percent of customers believe that gold could touch $5,000 per ounce by the end of 2026. Among these, 27 percent believe that financial concerns will persist in the coming time and 38 percent believe that demand for gold from central banks will remain strong.
