Mumbai, August 13: Renowned television actor Gashmeer Mahajani is set to appear in the upcoming TV show ‘108 Base Hospital: Uri.’ In a recent conversation, he shared insights about how the lives of army personnel impact their personal lives and how they cope with these challenges.
Mahajani expressed, “I believe this is the first time such a show is being aired on television. The most important aspect is that it is army-based, allowing me to portray an army officer for the first time. The level of production is impressive; although it’s for television, it feels like a significant achievement for the medium. The show will also highlight the personal lives of army soldiers.”
He provided a glimpse into the show, stating, “The story will unfold over 30 episodes, concluding one season. This format is entirely new for television and is being produced on a grand scale. If you watch the teaser and trailer, it feels like a film. Viewers can expect the same level of entertainment on television. The show will air every Saturday and Sunday.”
Upon learning that it was an army-themed show, Mahajani immediately agreed to participate. He remarked, “The army has always been close to my heart, and I have always wished to play the role of an army officer. When I received this role, I read the script and understood my character. I felt there was a lot of individuality and identity in the role. We have created this show with passion. Every actor and director involved is very sincere.”
In the show, Mahajani plays the lead role of Doctor Major Anirudh Jaiswal. The series will explore not only his professional combat life but also his personal relationships and family turmoil.
Discussing his character, he said, “As I mentioned, the story revolves around an individual; it’s not just about missions in the army. While my character is in the army, viewers will also see his personal life and how he deals with his situations.”
Mahajani also revealed that actress Erica Fernandes will be featured in the show. He added, “This is an entertainment show, so there will be a love story as well. I believe there is a love story between Nikhil and Ayushi, while there is also a lot happening between my character and Erica’s character.”
