Former MPs Son Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances in Rajasthan

A former MPs son was allegedly murdered, with family members implicated in a police complaint regarding his suspicious death.

Bharatpur, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : Bharatpur is shaken by the recent death of Rajendra Pratap Singh, the son of former MP Ratan Singh. On October 11, Singh was found dead under suspicious circumstances, prompting Ratan Singh to file a police complaint alleging that his son was poisoned. The complaint names Singh’s daughter-in-law, Neetu Singh, his grandson Saurabh, and other family members as being involved in the alleged conspiracy.

Authorities at the Jawahar Circle police station have launched an investigation into the case. Rajendra, who worked as an executive engineer for the Rajasthan Public Works Department, died on September 11. Ratan Singh claims that the motive behind his son’s death was to secure a government job on humanitarian grounds and to gain control over a substantial family estate.

To gather evidence, the police have summoned a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to examine the scene. They have also seized CCTV footage and a digital video recorder (DVR) from the family home. Investigators are currently awaiting forensic and medical reports to determine the cause of death.

The allegations against the family have not yet been independently verified. According to the complaint, Rajendra and Neetu Singh were married on May 11, 2005, but began experiencing marital strife shortly thereafter. Rajendra had filed for divorce in family court.

The complaint states that Neetu and their son Saurabh had been living separately from Rajendra. In May of this year, a mutual agreement led them to return to the family home in Malviya Nagar, Jaipur. However, Ratan Singh alleges that tensions escalated upon their return, resulting in frequent disputes over property and finances.

Ratan Singh reported that a serious argument broke out on September 4 regarding financial matters, during which threats to Rajendra’s life were allegedly made. He further claims that the CCTV cameras at their residence were tampered with or shut down on September 4 and 5, raising suspicions about the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.

Upon discovering Rajendra’s body, Ratan noted that his lips had turned blue, which he believes indicates poisoning. He has urged police to thoroughly investigate the DVR footage and other evidence.

Mahesh Chandra, the station house officer at the Jawahar Circle police station, stated that officials are examining all aspects of the case. Evidence has been collected from the scene, the CCTV DVR has been seized, and a post-mortem examination has been conducted. Samples for forensic analysis have also been sent to the FSL.

Chandra confirmed that they are currently awaiting the final reports from forensic and pathology examinations. The police are investigating Ratan Singh’s complaint and have begun interviewing family members, neighbors, and relatives of the complainant’s daughter-in-law. The investigation is ongoing, and the true cause of death, along with the allegations of conspiracy and poisoning, will be clarified through forensic analysis and further police inquiries.
