Tourists Face Chaos at Taj Mahal as Locker Room Fills Up
Tourists at the Taj Mahal faced chaos as the locker room filled up, forcing them to leave bags in trees amid heavy crowds.

Agra, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Visitors to the Taj Mahal in Agra encountered significant disarray on Sunday, November 1, as the locker room near the western gate reached full capacity. With the influx of tourists, many were left with no choice but to hang their bags from nearby trees. Long lines formed at ticket counters and bag drop-off points due to the large number of visitors.
Anil Kumar, a tourist, reported spending over two hours just to secure his ticket and drop off his bag. When he finally reached the counter, staff informed him that they could no longer accept bags. Frustrated, he opted to leave his belongings in a tree instead of waiting in another line.
Another visitor, Vikas from Banda district, shared a similar experience. He stood in line for two hours only to find all bag drop counters closed. He too was forced to leave his bag hanging from a tree branch.
Onlookers noted the unusual sight of bags dangling from tree branches, with 8 to 10 bags seen suspended in the foliage. Benches were also cluttered with tourists’ suitcases, raising concerns about the safety of their belongings.
Many tourists criticized the administration for inadequate arrangements, especially given the surge in visitors on a Sunday. The limited capacity of the locker room caused significant inconvenience, detracting from their overall experience at this iconic monument.
