Former Bank of Baroda Manager Sentenced to Four Years for Corruption
A former Bank of Baroda manager has been sentenced to four years in prison for accepting bribes during a loan process.

Lucknow, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : A special court of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Lucknow has sentenced Subodh Kumar Rastogi, a former branch manager of Bank of Baroda, to four years in prison for corruption. The court also imposed a fine of ₹30,000 on him.
The verdict was delivered on November 2, following a case that began with a complaint filed on October 26, 2015. The complainant alleged that he had taken a loan of ₹5 lakh to expand his solar light business. During the disbursement of ₹1.25 lakh as a term loan, Rastogi reportedly demanded approximately ₹25,000 under the pretext of CA fees, stamp paper, and file charges.
Additionally, when the complainant sought a cash credit limit of ₹3.75 lakh, Rastogi allegedly threatened to close the account unless he received a bribe of ₹25,000. The CBI set up a sting operation, resulting in Rastogi being caught red-handed while accepting ₹10,000 from the complainant.
After the investigation concluded, the CBI filed a chargesheet against Rastogi on December 18, 2015. Following the trial, the court found him guilty and imposed the four-year sentence along with the fine.
The CBI emphasized that it remains committed to combating corruption and will continue to take stringent action against offenders.
