Raipur, July 31 (H.S.): In a significant boost to rail connectivity between Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Indian Railways is set to launch a new daily Intercity Express train between Jabalpur’s Madan Mahal station and the Chhattisgarh capital Raipur. The service will commence from August 3, as per an official notification issued by the Railways on Wednesday evening.

Daily Service via Balaghat and Gondia
The newly introduced Intercity train will depart from Madan Mahal, Jabalpur at 6:10 AM and will reach Raipur station at 1:50 PM, travelling via Balaghat and Gondia. On the return journey, the train will depart from Raipur at 2:45 PM and arrive back at Madan Mahal by 10:30 PM.
This new service will significantly reduce the travel time between the two cities, completing the journey in just 6 hours and 40 minutes. Currently, the only operational train between Raipur and Jabalpur is the Amarkantak Express.
The introduction of this Intercity Express is expected to bring great relief to daily commuters and frequent travellers between the two cities.
