Mathura, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : As the clock struck midnight, a wave of joy swept through Mathura and beyond, resonating with chants of “Hathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki.” This magical moment marked the birth of Lord Krishna, celebrated with fervor across the nation and overseas. From the sacred city of Mathura to Delhi-NCR, Dwarka, and Bengaluru, the atmosphere was electric with the spirit of Krishna Janmashtami.
In Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, the festival was observed with immense enthusiasm and devotion. As midnight approached, the temples erupted with joyous chants praising Lord Krishna. Devotees flocked to the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple, arriving from all corners of the country to seek blessings.
Following the Mangala Aarti, the temple complex transformed into a vibrant celebration. Devotees danced and rejoiced to the beats of drums and traditional instruments. The air was filled with the echoes of “Jai Kanhaiya Lal,” creating an exhilarating ambiance. Authorities had made extensive arrangements for security and convenience, ensuring that visitors faced no difficulties during their worship.
One female devotee shared her thoughts, stating, “Everything is happening due to the grace of Kanha Ji. This is His divine play and magic. The entire world dances to His tune; no human has such power.” Another devotee, Mohan Singh, expressed his joy, saying, “We’ve been celebrating here for about 15 years. It brings us immense happiness. I don’t dance; Kanha Himself makes me dance.”
A local woman mentioned, “My in-laws live in Mathura. I come here daily for darshan, but today is my first time visiting for Janmashtami. It feels wonderful.” Another devotee, who has been visiting the temple for 20 years, remarked, “When I miss coming here, it feels like something is amiss. The arrangements have significantly improved; it’s much easier to have darshan now, especially during Janmashtami.”
