
Dubai, May 19: In the latest ICC women’s rankings released on Tuesday, Pakistan’s captain Fatima Sana has made impressive gains in T20 rankings, while England’s fast bowler Lauren Bell has climbed in the ODI rankings.
Recently, a T20 series was held between the women’s teams of Pakistan and Zimbabwe in Karachi, where Pakistan emerged victorious with a 3-0 win. Fatima’s outstanding performance in this series has propelled her up the T20 rankings. After scoring 62 runs in the final match and being named Player of the Match, Fatima has jumped four places to reach 23rd in the batting rankings.
Fatima also excelled in bowling, taking five wickets, which has helped her rise six spots to 29th in the bowling rankings.
Additionally, Pakistan’s spinner Nashra Sandhu also took five wickets during the series, earning her a one-place improvement in the T20 bowlers’ rankings, now sitting at seventh. Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal, who took six wickets in the series, retains her position as the number one T20 bowler.
In the T20 batting rankings, two other Pakistani players—Ayesha Zafar and Aiman Fatima—have also made significant leaps. Ayesha, who was previously outside the top 100, has climbed to 52nd after the Zimbabwe series, while Aiman has reached 89th.
For England, Lauren Bell has made notable progress in the ODI bowling rankings. After taking five wickets in a recent series against New Zealand, she has moved up three spots to 18th in the ICC women’s bowlers’ rankings. Bell has also climbed three places to 22nd in the all-rounders’ rankings.
In the ODI batting rankings, New Zealand’s Brooke Halliday has risen three spots to 14th, while her teammate Isabella Gage has jumped seven places to 51st. England’s spinner Charlie Dean has also moved up four spots to 58th in the ODI bowling rankings.
In the ICC T20 women’s rankings, Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal holds the first position among bowlers, followed by England’s Sophie Ecclestone in second, and Lauren Bell in third. In the T20 batting rankings, Australia’s Georgia Wareham is first, followed by Australia’s Beth Mooney in second, and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt in third.
In the ODI batting rankings, India’s Smriti Mandhana is first, followed by South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt in second, and Australia’s Beth Mooney in third. For ODI bowlers, Australia’s Alana King is first, followed by England’s Sophie Ecclestone in second, and Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner in third.
