Mumbai, March 14: Renowned choreographer, director, and YouTuber Farah Khan has delivered numerous memorable songs in Hindi cinema. Some films may not have performed well at the box office, yet their soundtracks became hits.
In a recent podcast, Farah shared intriguing insights about the 2006 film ‘Jaan-E-Mann,’ particularly highlighting the song ‘Sau Dard.’ She revealed that Salman Khan delivered a genuine emotional performance while filming the song.
Farah posted a clip from the podcast on her Instagram Stories, stating, “My best work is in the film ‘Jaan-E-Mann.’ The songs were excellent, but they received little recognition. Salman gave an incredible performance in this film. In the song ‘Sau Dard,’ he cried on the Brooklyn Bridge, and it was real. He didn’t use any glycerin. It was the first time I saw Salman express and feel his pain so deeply.”
She further explained, “There was no special preparation during the shoot. We were just moving around with the camera. At that moment, Salman was genuinely crying. No glycerin, no fakes—just real emotions. That moment was magical. I didn’t want to cut that scene.”
Farah also shared that when the film flopped at the box office, she was so disheartened that she cried herself.
Released in 2006, ‘Jaan-E-Mann’ featured Preity Zinta (Piya), Salman Khan (Suhana), and Akshay Kumar (Agastya Rao). This romantic comedy-drama told a unique love story, with music composed by Anu Malik, including popular tracks like ‘Humko Maloom Hai,’ ‘Sau Dard,’ and ‘Jaane Ke Jaane Na.’
