Mumbai, June 25: The highly anticipated OTT series “Mirzapur” is set to make its grand return to the big screen. The creators have unveiled the teaser for “Mirzapur: The Movie,” which promises a storyline that is bigger, spicier, and more dangerous than ever before. The teaser hints at the return of beloved characters, along with a new battle for power, revenge, and empire.
The teaser opens with a calm yet intense atmosphere, showcasing the character of Kaleen Bhaiya in his classic style. He is seen performing a ritual, stating, “Capable offspring are hard to find and sometimes don’t exist at all.” From the very first moment, viewers are transported back to the familiar world of Mirzapur, where betrayal lurks at every corner and every relationship hides a secret agenda.
As the teaser progresses, it shifts focus to Guddu Bhaiya, portrayed by Ali Fazal, who appears more aggressive than before. He asserts, “Look at history; all ambitious gangsters have reached the top.” This time, his goal is not just revenge but to seize power for himself.
Divyendu Sharma’s Munna Bhaiya also makes an appearance, retaining his old flair, which adds to the excitement of the teaser. The narrative this time expands beyond the confines of Mirzapur city, indicating that the battle for power, money, and empire is escalating on a larger scale, with each character playing their own game.
A significant surprise in the teaser is Jitendra Kumar, who returns as ‘Bablu Pandit.’ His comeback introduces a new twist to the storyline. Additionally, Ravi Kishan’s entry adds a fresh dynamic, as his character is portrayed as mysterious and impactful, hinting at major twists ahead.
The film features a stellar cast, including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, and Ravi Kishan, along with Shweta Tripathi, Jitendra Kumar, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Shreya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajesh Tailang, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sonal Chauhan, Pramod Pathak, and Anangsha Biswas in pivotal roles.
“Mirzapur: The Movie” is produced by Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios. Directed by Gurmeet Singh, the screenplay is penned by Puneet Krishna. The project is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The film is set to release in theaters worldwide in Hindi and Telugu on September 4.
