Mumbai, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : Indresh Kumar, a prominent leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), delivered a powerful message promoting unity, religious harmony, and national identity among Indians during a recent address in Mumbai. He emphasized that all individuals residing in the country should identify primarily as Indians, rather than being divided by their religious affiliations.
In a conversation with a news agency, Kumar urged people to unite based on their shared identity as Indians. He responded to calls for declaring the cow as the national animal, highlighting the significance of a proposal from the Memon community as a positive step forward.
Kumar stated that regardless of their beliefs—whether they worship God, Allah, or any other deity—everyone shares a fundamental truth: they are human beings. He stressed the importance of humanity, insisting that individuals should not succumb to negativity but instead embrace compassion and kindness.
He claimed that the vast majority of Muslims in India are not foreigners but integral members of the nation, emphasizing that over 99 percent belong to the country. Each person, he argued, should have the freedom to practice their faith without interference, and should participate respectfully in the religious events of others. Kumar believes that fostering cooperation and goodwill can lead to a riot-free India.
Addressing the issue of violence in the name of religion, he condemned both cow and human lynching, stating, “No cow lynching, no man lynching; let us make India lynching-free.” He reiterated the necessity for a society free from violence and called for a collective effort to assist the poor, the oppressed, and the vulnerable.
Kumar welcomed the Memon community’s proposal to declare the cow a national animal, noting that it signifies their understanding of the cow’s importance. He highlighted the nutritional value of cow’s milk, which is often provided to children when mother’s milk is unavailable.
In closing, he reinforced the message of unity, asserting that only through collective efforts can a new India and a new world be realized.
