Embracing Ayurveda: A Path to Healthier Living, Says AIIA Director

New Delhi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, highlighted the significant role of lifestyle changes in improving health during a recent discussion. He noted that a memorandum of understanding (MOU) promoting Ayurveda exchange will soon be signed with the Ambassador of Nicaragua, Nadeska Cuthbert.

Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, AIIA is preparing a nationwide movement to educate people about the dietary and lifestyle practices outlined in Ayurveda. While many countries are adopting ancient wellness practices, Prajapati emphasized the need to present the scientific background and evidence supporting these methods to gain public trust.

The goal of this movement is to integrate Ayurveda into daily life, making it accessible to everyone. Prajapati pointed out that balancing diet and lifestyle can significantly reduce the need for medication. He expressed concern about the high screen time prevalent in modern work habits, which contributes to various health issues. To combat this, he advocates for the adoption of Ayurveda and yoga as essential components of a healthy lifestyle.

He further explained that adjusting daily routines and seasonal practices is crucial. Many health issues, such as vitamin D deficiency, stem from our eating habits and lifestyle choices. Simple changes, like waking up early and exercising in sunlight, can naturally address these deficiencies, preventing conditions like osteoporosis.

Prajapati thanked the AYUSH Minister for spearheading this initiative and noted that this year’s Ayurveda Day theme is “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow.” He urged people to follow the simple principles of Ayurveda practiced by previous generations, such as rising early, eating on time, and engaging in physical and mental exercises.

The increasing reliance on technology poses a risk to our health, and Prajapati warned against becoming overly dependent on it. He called for a lifestyle shift, emphasizing that if people can balance their diet and lifestyle, they could eliminate up to 50% of diseases.
