Ranchi, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its investigation into the petrol bomb attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Ranchi, which occurred in June. On Thursday, the agency conducted simultaneous raids in Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Karnataka, focusing on potential money laundering and suspicious financial transactions.
According to officials, these actions are linked to a case registered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). ED teams searched various locations associated with suspects, examining documents, digital devices, and evidence related to alleged financial misconduct. The agency aims to determine whether illegal funding or money laundering facilitated the attack.
On June 16, petrol bombs were thrown at the provincial RSS office located in Nivaranpur, Ranchi. The NIA has officially recorded this incident as RC-01/2026/NIA/RNC. Initial investigations by the Ranchi police led to the arrest of three suspects. The NIA later took over the case, probing the alleged conspiracy behind the attack, the network of the accused, and any interstate connections.
In July, following interrogations of the suspects, the NIA indicated it would further investigate other individuals and digital devices linked to the case. Reports have surfaced suggesting potential international connections, with claims of contacts with handlers based in Pakistan. However, these allegations will only be confirmed upon the completion of the investigation.
Previously, the NIA has conducted searches in multiple states regarding this case, including a raid in Patna earlier this month, where millions of rupees were seized. The recent actions by the ED now shift the focus to the financial networks and sources of funding related to the attack.
