Economic Survey Highlights India’s Strength Under PM Modi: Amit Shah

New Delhi: The Economic Survey 2026 was presented in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the survey as a testament to the strength of the Indian economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Amit Shah shared global data on social media, stating that the Economic Survey 2025-26 reflects the robustness of India’s economy under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Modi. He added that despite challenges, the country is progressing steadily and strongly.

He further noted that while the world struggled with economic instability due to the pandemic, India’s economy overcame these difficulties through effective leadership and collective efforts.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared Finance Minister Sitharaman’s post on social media, highlighting that the Economic Survey presents a comprehensive picture of India’s reform momentum amid a challenging global environment. It showcases strong and broad economic fundamentals, sustained growth rates, and the increasing role of innovation, entrepreneurship, and infrastructure in nation-building.

The survey emphasizes inclusive development, focusing on farmers, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), youth employment, and social welfare. It also provides a roadmap to strengthen manufacturing, boost productivity, and accelerate progress towards a developed India.

The Prime Minister stated that the insights from the survey will guide informed policymaking and strengthen confidence in India’s economic future.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman remarked that amid global uncertainties, India remains a bright spot in the world, moving forward with stability and strength.

In her social media post about the Economic Survey, she said that despite global challenges, the Indian economy has maintained strong momentum. According to the first advance estimates, the real GDP growth rate for the financial year 2025-26 is projected at 7.4 percent. This marks the fourth consecutive year India is among the fastest-growing major economies globally.
