DTC Bus Collides with E-Rickshaw and Motorcycles in Delhi, One Dead and Three Injured

A DTC bus crash in New Delhi has resulted in one fatality and three injuries. The driver has fled the scene.

New Delhi, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : A tragic accident occurred in Anand Parvat, New Delhi, on Saturday morning when a DTC bus collided with an e-rickshaw, two motorcycles, and a scooter near the 212 bus stand. The incident led to the death of one individual, while three others sustained injuries. The injured were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Reports indicate that the female bus driver fled the scene following the collision.

Delhi police confirmed that the accident took place in the DBG Road area near New Rohtak Road. Authorities are currently searching for the bus driver. Witnesses reported that some stones were thrown at the bus before police arrived, resulting in shattered windows. A police team is on-site, but the identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been established.

Eyewitness Deepak recounted, “I was on my way to work when I saw a woman driving the bus in a hurry. Suddenly, she accelerated and hit me first. I fell backward, and she continued driving straight, hitting everyone in her path.”

Another local resident expressed concern over the frequent traffic jams in the area, stating, “There’s no space for pedestrians on the road. Rickshaws and shops occupy the street, making it dangerous for everyone. Today, this resulted in a tragic loss of life.”

Residents noted that accidents are common in the area, with many citing poor conditions and delayed police response times.

In a separate incident later that night around 12:45 a.m., a truck collided with two motorcycles in Dwarka’s Sector 18, resulting in the death of Gaurav, son of Arvind Deswal, due to severe head injuries. Three other individuals were injured and transported to the hospital. The truck driver, Hotham Singh, 41, from Agra, has been apprehended by the police.
