Mumbai, October 12 (Daily Kiran) — The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Crime Branch has busted a major inter-state drug network, seizing drugs worth ₹7.1 crore during raids conducted across Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh. A total of nine individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, police officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (ANC) Navnath Dhawale, the operation began after the police received a tip-off about a Nigerian national involved in drug trafficking. Acting on the information, the ANC team apprehended the suspect from Vakola in Santacruz East, seizing 523 grams of cocaine valued at ₹5.23 crore.
Following his interrogation, the police expanded their investigation and conducted coordinated raids in Kurla CST, Mazgaon, Ghodapdeo, Byculla, and Borivali, where five more suspects were detained. From them, officers recovered 211 grams of MD (Mephedrone) worth ₹54.64 lakh.
In a related case registered by the Ghatkopar Unit, the ANC also tracked down an inter-state drug syndicate operating in Uttar Pradesh. During these raids, three more accused were arrested, and drugs worth ₹1.35 crore were seized from their possession.
Overall, nine drug traffickers have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to uncover their network and supply chain.
A senior official from the Mumbai Crime Branch said the ANC has intensified its operations against narcotics trafficking and continues to collaborate with law enforcement agencies in other states to dismantle such inter-state drug cartels.
