Drone Debris Falls in Dubai, Injuring Two Individuals

Dubai, March 1: Authorities in the United Arab Emirates reported that debris from drones intercepted by air security fell into the yards of two homes in Dubai, injuring two people. Medical treatment has been provided to the injured.

The Dubai government’s media office announced on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Officials have confirmed that debris from drones intercepted by air security fell into the yards of two homes in Dubai, resulting in injuries to two individuals. Necessary medical care has been provided. Authorities also clarified that the sounds heard across the emirate were the result of successful interception operations.”

Earlier in the day, the UAE’s Ministry of Defense announced that since the onset of Iranian attacks, the air force and air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones aimed at the country’s borders.

The ministry clarified that 137 ballistic missiles launched from Iran have been detected since the start of the attacks, with 132 being destroyed and five falling into the sea. Additionally, 209 drones from Iran were detected, of which 195 were intercepted, while 14 drones fell within the country’s borders and territorial waters, causing some damage.

The Ministry of Defense reported that the effective interception of missiles and drones resulted in some debris falling in various regions of the country, causing minor damage to several civilian properties.

The ministry confirmed that relevant authorities acted promptly and with full readiness and capabilities to address such situations, ensuring the safety of residents and securing affected sites.

The UAE’s Ministry of Defense condemned the attacks, expressing the country’s strong rejection of such acts, which reflect dangerous tensions and cowardly behavior that jeopardizes public safety and undermines stability.

The ministry stated that this attack constitutes a severe violation of national sovereignty and international law. It urged people to obtain information from official sources in the UAE and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified information.

The ministry emphasized that this targeted attack is a blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law, and the country reserves the right to respond to this escalation and take all necessary measures to protect its territories, people, and residents, ensuring its sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as safeguarding its interests and national capabilities.
