Kolkata, August 26: West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh has sharply criticized the Congress party. He stated that the party often faces issues with initiatives that benefit the nation. During his remarks, Ghosh also targeted Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday morning, Ghosh said, “No matter what Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi do, it makes no difference. A law has already been passed in Parliament. ‘Vande Mataram’ has been recognized since the Constitution and independence. The people of the country respect and accept it. Now, ‘Vande Mataram’ is being sung across the nation, and there is no problem with that. Congress always has an issue when something is done in the interest of the country.”
In response to Rahul Gandhi’s comments on rising sugar prices during a Lok Sabha session, Ghosh remarked, “What was cheap during their time? If you compare by percentage, everything is cheaper today. They have no issues left to raise. The government is doing such good work that they have nothing to talk about or protest against. What statements are they making now, and what will they do next? What did you do in the past? You ruled the country for ten years. What condition did you leave it in? We even had to sell gold.”
Regarding the Allahabad High Court‘s decision that the hijab is not part of the school uniform, Ghosh stated, “The army, police, and other paramilitary forces have dress codes, where women also serve. Do they wear hijabs? Therefore, the school dress code is a common belief.”
He added that individuals can wear whatever they like at home or during personal events, but in matters of law and order and discipline, the hijab cannot be permitted.
