DigiHaul Expands Cooperative Mobility Services to 55 Indian Cities

New Delhi, May 22: The government-supported e-commerce platform DigiHaul announced on Friday that it has expanded its driver-owned cooperative mobility services to 55 cities across India through partnerships with India Taxi and Namma Yatri.

The company stated that this expansion aims to promote cooperative and community-centered models within the ride-hailing sector.

The newly launched ‘DigiHaul Rides’ service, which was previously operational in the Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru regions, has now been extended to several Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, including Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vadodara.

According to the platform, its mobility model differs from traditional ride-hailing services by emphasizing driver ownership and lower commission rates.

Drivers on this platform gain greater control over their earnings and decisions, while customers benefit from transparent pricing and community accountability.

Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision, the company stated that this initiative aims to enhance the ‘ease of living’ and promote inclusive digital participation across the country.

Rahul Vij, CEO of DigiHaul, expressed the company’s commitment to creating a digital infrastructure that prioritizes citizens over shareholders.

“We are not creating another ride-sharing app. We are demonstrating that India can build a digital infrastructure that serves citizens first, not shareholders. Every driver on DigiHaul keeps their earnings. Every user has real choices. This is the true picture of inclusive digital participation,” he said.

DigiHaul also mentioned that the expanded ride service will be integrated with its existing platform, which includes metro ticket booking, food delivery, shopping, and grocery services. The goal is to create a unified digital platform for everyday needs.

The platform positions itself as a government-supported initiative aimed at strengthening the digital participation of Indian producers, artisans, farmer groups, and enterprises while promoting transparency and inclusive access through public digital infrastructure.
