A good actor is one who, regardless of personal equations with co-actors, can portray their role with honesty and dedication in front of the camera. Actress Diana Penty shared her views on this perspective.
During the promotion of her new streaming series ‘Do You Wanna Partner’, Diana spoke extensively about acting, professionalism, and her experiences working with co-actors.
TrendingSpeaking about the craft, Diana Penty said, “For a good actor, it is essential not to let personal relationships affect their work. Whether you are friends with a co-actor or not, what appears on screen should be entirely based on the character’s demands, not on personal relationships.”
Diana added, “In ‘Do You Wanna Partner’, my co-actor Tamanna Bhatia and I had a very positive working experience. We built a good bond on set, but I believe the true test of an actor lies in how sincerely they can separate personal relations from their role. The quality of acting depends on how well an artist manages to keep their personal experiences and emotions apart.”
She further mentioned, “I consider myself fortunate because my friendship with Tamanna developed naturally. The atmosphere on set was comfortable and positive, which made working easier. When the off-screen relationship is strong, it reflects on screen as well, adding a unique truth and energy to the scenes that the audience can feel.”
Discussing her chemistry with Tamanna Bhatia, Diana said, “We never faced any difficulty coordinating with each other. We worked together in many scenes, often trying new expressions. When actors are comfortable with each other, it gives freedom to improvise, which enhances the story.”
She also stated, “Tamanna and I were so comfortable that we could openly share our opinions without hesitation. There was no formal stiffness where every word had to be carefully measured. We could freely discuss scene-related advice or dialogues. Such an environment is rare, and when it happens, it clearly impacts the actors’ work.”
Diana concluded, “Good bonding among actors makes work easier, but an actor must remain professional under all circumstances. Personal relationships should never take precedence over the character. Acting is an art that demands discipline and self-control.”
