Mumbai, August 10: Actress Dia Mirza is making waves with her recent role in the war-drama web series ‘Operation White Sea,’ where she portrays Kamalpreet Kaur Dhanoa, the wife of former Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa. On Monday, she expressed her gratitude to the entire team for the opportunity to be part of this significant project.
Dia shared several photos on Instagram featuring herself alongside actor Jimmy Shergill and others from the cast. In her post, she conveyed how meaningful it is for her to be part of the series and thanked everyone involved.
She wrote, “As artists, we don’t choose our roles; rather, the roles choose us, helping us become better individuals. Playing Kamalpreet Dhanoa in ‘Operation White Sea’ is a huge honor for me. Thank you, Ma’am Kamal. You will always hold a special place in my heart. Tony Sir, you are amazing. Working with you, Jimmy Shergill Sir, has been a pleasure. No one could portray the role of Tony Dhanoa better than you.”
The six-episode Hindi war-drama series features Jimmy Shergill as Dia Mirza’s husband, former Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa. Through her character, Dia highlights the unspoken sacrifices and strength of women who send their husbands off to defend the nation with a smile.
The series realistically depicts not only the battlefield but also the political and diplomatic tensions, such as the turmoil between the top leadership of India and Pakistan.
‘Operation White Sea’ is based on the historic and daring aerial operations of the Indian Air Force (IAF) during the Kargil War of 1999. In addition to Dia and Jimmy, the cast includes Siddharth, Abhay Verma, Adil Hussain, and Prajakta Koli in significant roles. The series has been streaming on Netflix since August 7.
