New Delhi, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : BJP MP Dharmendra Pradhan has targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him the embodiment of political opportunism. He accused the Congress party of changing its stance on national security issues.
In a post on the social media platform X, Pradhan stated, “If political opportunism had a face, it would be that of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. From questioning India’s democracy abroad to declaring a fight against Indian authority, his politics has repeatedly raised doubts about his priorities.”
Pradhan highlighted that Congress has altered its position on an issue it previously opposed on national security grounds. He questioned, “What has changed in a year? Principles cannot be abandoned for political convenience.”
Emphasizing India’s sovereignty, Pradhan asserted, “India is a sovereign nation, and its policies are determined by its own institutions, laws, and national interests—not by foreign pressures or narratives on X.”
He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, declaring, “Under Modi, India will never bow to external pressures nor allow anyone to dictate its decisions. No pressure, provocation, or political agenda can force India to compromise on its national security. We have never done so, and we never will.”
Pradhan welcomed global companies, innovation, and investment that respect Indian laws and safety standards, stating, “We are open to the world, but we will never compromise our national interests.”
Demanding accountability from Congress, he wrote, “The Congress must be held responsible for changing its stance on such sensitive issues. When political positions shift so dramatically, the interests behind such changes cannot be overlooked.”
He posed a pointed question: “Is the desire for political support and resources from influential foreign powers becoming more important than trust in India’s own institutions?”
Concluding his post, Pradhan warned, “History teaches lessons to those who compromise national interests for political gain. The people of India are watching, and Congress must remember that our national interests are not subjects for negotiation or bargaining.”
