Devotees Flock to Vaishno Devi and Naina Devi Temples on Fourth Day of Navratri

New Delhi, March 22: On the fourth day of Chaitra Navratri, a large number of devotees are visiting the Devi temples. The sacred sites are bustling with worshippers, all eager to seek blessings from the divine.

Devotees are continuously arriving at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, Naina Devi Temple, and the Sureshwari Devi Temple in Haridwar.

At the Vaishno Devi Temple, pilgrims from all corners of the country are making their way to the shrine. A female devotee from Meerut shared her experience, stating, “The temple is very crowded, but with the blessings of the Mother, we are ready to tackle the challenging climb.” Security measures are stringent, with checkpoints established at intervals to note vehicle numbers. Police and army personnel are stationed throughout the area. “We feel extremely fortunate to be called by the Mother during Navratri,” she added.

Another woman expressed her long-standing desire to visit the temple, saying, “I had been planning to see Mata Rani for a long time, and finally, she has called us. We are all blessed.”

Meanwhile, at the Naina Devi Temple in Bilaspur, devotees are also arriving in large numbers. Due to its significance as a Shakti Peeth, the faith in the Mother is particularly strong among the pilgrims. Temple official Chatar Singh mentioned, “We are making all arrangements for the devotees during Navratri. Community meals (Bhandara) are also being prepared, and all necessary preparations are complete. Devotees are being allowed to enter in an orderly manner. We pray to Maa Jagdamba to fulfill the wishes of every devotee.”

At the Sureshwari Devi Temple in Haridwar, a significant number of worshippers are also visiting. Many are tying threads to the banyan tree as a symbol of their wishes. The chief priest, Kirti Ballabh Tiwari, explained, “On this day, the goddess is worshipped in her Kushmanda form. According to scriptures, including the Skanda Purana, all deities, including Indra, the king of gods, have worshipped the goddess here. It is believed that Mata Rani fulfills all the wishes of her devotees.”
