Mathura, April 20: The Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, holds special significance on Akshaya Tritiya, as it offers devotees a rare opportunity to witness the divine feet of Banke Bihari once a year.
This year, the festival was celebrated on Monday, according to the lunar calendar, attracting a large crowd of devotees eager to participate in the foot darshan.
A devotee from Rewa shared her experience, stating, “Seeing the divine feet of Banke Bihari brought immense peace to my heart. It felt as though Banke Bihari himself had descended to Earth. The beauty of the darshan filled my soul with joy. Although Rewa is far from Mathura, I make it a point to visit whenever I can, aiming to come at least once a year to seek the blessings of Banke Bihari.”
Discussing the temple management, she noted that due to the large crowd on Akshaya Tritiya, the temple administration had installed railings to manage the flow of visitors. This arrangement allowed all devotees to enjoy a smooth darshan experience.
Another devotee from Jabalpur mentioned that he visits the temple every year on this auspicious day, as it is believed that witnessing the divine feet on Akshaya Tritiya brings good fortune. He added that he came with his entire family for the darshan.
It is worth noting that while most parts of the country celebrated Akshaya Tritiya on April 19, the foot darshan in Vrindavan was held today, following the lunar calendar. The auspicious time for Akshaya Tritiya began on April 19, 2026, at 10:49 AM and continued until 7:27 AM on April 20. The temple arranged the foot darshan today, keeping the lunar date in mind.
