New Delhi, April 20: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta of Delhi has announced on social media platform X that efforts to transform the city are ongoing 24/7.
Gupta emphasized that the government is actively monitoring progress and accelerating initiatives. She stated that every decision, effort, and initiative aims to build a developed Delhi. “We are moving forward with determination, speed, and results,” she wrote.
Just a day earlier, on April 19, she ordered the drafting of the ‘Delhi Semiconductor Policy.’ This policy aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and aims to ensure Delhi’s active participation in the growth of India’s semiconductor sector.
Gupta noted that the semiconductor sector has emerged as a crucial pillar of the global economy. The Delhi government is working on a comprehensive policy framework to ensure its balanced and systematic development. This policy envisions providing both financial and non-financial incentives to promote ease of doing business, innovation, and an industry-based ecosystem.
The Chief Minister expressed optimism that this policy would strengthen Delhi’s position in high-value segments of the semiconductor value chain, particularly in design, research and development, and advanced packaging. It is expected to attract investments from fabless semiconductor companies, startups, as well as ATMP and OSAT units.
Highlighting employment opportunities, Gupta stated that this policy would create high-quality jobs in chip design, semiconductor research, and advanced packaging. It also aims to promote skill development through targeted training programs, internships, and industry-academia partnerships.
