Delhi Water Minister Takes Strict Action Against Revenue Officers

New Delhi: Delhi Water Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma conducted surprise inspections on Thursday in Rajendra Nagar, Kanhaiya Nagar, and Ashok Vihar areas. During the visit, he initiated disciplinary action against regional revenue officers of the Delhi Jal Board. The move aims to strengthen accountability and improve public service delivery.

Regional revenue officers (ZROs) of Rajendra Nagar, Kanhaiya Nagar, and Ashok Vihar, along with the assistant sub-officer (ASO) of Kanhaiya Nagar, were suspended following public complaints about administrative irregularities, delayed grievance redressal, and supervision lapses.

Residents of these localities had expressed concerns regarding service accountability and the resolution of complaints. In response, the minister personally reviewed field operations and office functioning.

During inspections, Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma examined attendance records, complaint registers, and operational procedures to assess compliance with departmental standards.

Based on the review, immediate administrative action was taken. Senior officials were directed to ensure accountability and initiate corrective measures within the department.

Addressing the officers, the minister emphasized that government offices must function with discipline, responsibility, and transparency. He warned that any negligence in duty or supervision would result in strict action, underscoring the necessity of accountability.

The minister reaffirmed the Delhi Government’s commitment to citizen-centric governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

He further stated that every officer will be held responsible for their respective areas and the quality of public services provided. No negligence will be overlooked.

This action reflects the government’s focus on strengthening ground-level performance and administrative discipline within the Delhi Jal Board.

Local residents welcomed the initiative and expressed confidence that continuous monitoring will lead to improved service delivery.

Replacement officers have been directed to take charge immediately to ensure uninterrupted services in the affected areas.

The Delhi Government will continue regular inspections across all regions of the Delhi Jal Board to enhance efficiency, accountability, and effective governance.
