
New Delhi, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : New Delhi‘s Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled significant healthcare initiatives on Tuesday as part of the “Service Commitment Campaign.” This initiative aims to leverage technology and compassionate care to create a healthier and more developed Delhi.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Sandhu stated, “In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for an inclusive and developed India, I joined Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Health Minister Pankaj Singh at the Tyagaraj Stadium to launch these important healthcare initiatives.”
Recognizing the critical role of frontline ASHA workers, their monthly honorarium has been increased from ₹3,000 to ₹6,000. Additionally, the campaign introduces “Project Anmol” for advanced screening of newborns, establishes a dedicated State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) center at GB Pant Hospital, and launches a transparent portal for nursing home management. Sandhu emphasized that a robust public health system, combined with technology and empathetic care, is essential for progressing towards a healthier Delhi.
Following the event, Chief Minister Gupta also shared her thoughts on X. She mentioned that discussions were held at the ASHA Conference 2026 to further enhance Delhi’s healthcare services.
Gupta noted, “The incentive for ASHA workers has been raised to ₹6,000, which will provide financial support to 6,690 ASHA workers and strengthen health services delivered door-to-door.”
The Chief Minister highlighted the launch of the SOTTO at GB Pant Hospital, which aims to improve coordination in the organ donation and transplantation process, ensuring timely assistance for patients in need.
Furthermore, the Auxillary Nurse Midwife Online (ANMOL) scheme has been expanded, offering free screenings for 56 types of health issues in newborns, facilitating early detection and treatment of diseases.
She also announced the launch of a Nursing Home Management System portal, designed to simplify and enhance transparency in nursing home operations.
Gupta concluded with a commitment to ensure that healthcare services are accessible and that every individual involved in service is treated with respect, all under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi.
