Delhi Haat Launches Gau Dhan Diwali Festival to Promote Cow Products

The Gau Dhan Diwali Festival kicks off in New Delhi, highlighting cow dung products and the need for cow conservation.

New Delhi, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : The National Gau Dhan Federation inaugurated a week-long ‘Gau Dhan Diwali Festival’ on Sunday at Delhi Haat in Janakpuri, New Delhi. The event featured notable guests, including former Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi and spiritual speaker Sudhanshu Maharaj. Attendees could explore an exhibition showcasing various products made from cow dung.

Jagdish Mukhi emphasized the festival’s aim to boost the sale of products derived from cow dung and cow urine. He noted, “This program organized by the National Gau Dhan Federation is a significant step forward. The federation’s president, Vijay Khurana, has made excellent arrangements here.” He further highlighted the need to promote these products, stating that increased demand would raise their prices, benefiting local producers and helping to curb cow slaughter.

Sudhanshu Maharaj, speaking with a news agency, stressed the importance of cow conservation. He pointed out the issue of stray cows on the streets and called for greater attention to their welfare. He also addressed the challenges farmers face with urea fertilizers, suggesting that establishing compost plants using organic cow dung could enhance soil fertility. “The use of chemical fertilizers is depleting our fields. By utilizing these plants, farmers can regain soil fertility and avoid debt from purchasing urea,” he explained.

The festival not only aims to celebrate cow products but also to raise awareness about the importance of cow conservation and sustainable farming practices.
