Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Meets Assembly Speaker to Discuss Budget Session Preparations

New Delhi, March 20: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met with Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Friday for a courtesy visit. During this meeting, both leaders discussed preparations for the upcoming budget session and various legislative topics related to the development of Delhi.

The Chief Minister shared insights about the meeting on the social media platform ‘X’. She stated, “I had a meaningful dialogue with Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta regarding the preparations for the upcoming budget session and various legislative issues concerning Delhi’s development. Our government is fully committed to presenting a budget that fulfills the aspirations of Delhi’s progress and its citizens.”

The upcoming budget session of the Delhi Assembly is scheduled to take place from March 23 to March 25. A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Delhi Secretariat decided the agenda for this session.

According to the cabinet’s decisions, the first day of the session, March 23, will feature the presentation of the economic survey in the Assembly. This report will provide a detailed overview of the capital’s economic status, revenue generation, expenditures, development activities across various sectors, and progress on key initiatives over the past year.

On March 24, the Delhi government will present its annual budget for the financial year 2026-27. Since Chief Minister Rekha Gupta oversees the finance department, she will personally present the budget. This budget is expected to focus on programs related to infrastructure, education, health, transportation, sanitation, and urban facilities. Additionally, new announcements regarding social security and welfare are also anticipated.

On the third day, March 25, discussions on the budget will take place, allowing both ruling and opposition legislators to express their views. Following the discussion, the government will respond and complete the necessary procedures to pass the budget.

Political circles are witnessing significant activity regarding the budget session. It is believed that through the upcoming budget, the Rekha Gupta government may announce several new plans and initiatives aimed at enhancing the capital’s development and improving citizen services.
