YouTuber Amrit Singh Darn Faces Charges for Alleged Offensive Comments on Kerala
YouTuber Amrit Singh Darn is charged for inflammatory remarks about Kerala, sparking political reactions and calls for legal action.

Thiruvananthapuram, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : A social media influencer and YouTuber, Amrit Singh Darn, is facing legal action for allegedly making inflammatory and communal comments about Kerala. The charges stem from a video in which he purportedly made remarks capable of inciting religious discord in the state, according to local police.
The Fort Kochi police have registered a case against Darn under sections 353(2) and 192 of the Indian Penal Code. His controversial statements reportedly concerned Fort Kochi, a popular tourist destination.
The incident has provoked responses within Kerala’s political landscape. Former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took to social media platform X, emphasizing that Fort Kochi and Varkala are places where diverse cultures converge, and history intertwines, allowing for a flourishing diversity. He accused Darn of attempting to spread hatred for personal gain and warned against coloring these vibrant tourist spots with communal strife. Vijayan urged the state government to take stringent legal action against individuals promoting such divisive narratives.
In a similar vein, Kerala’s current Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan responded, asserting that Kerala stands united and has no room for communal hatred. He criticized the misleading information shared by the out-of-state blogger on Instagram, which he claimed tarnished Kerala’s image and sought to create division among communities. Satheesan confirmed that an FIR has been filed and asserted that the law would take its course, reaffirming the government’s commitment to communal harmony and justice.
As the police investigate the video and its implications, discussions surrounding the incident have intensified on both political and social fronts in Kerala.
