New Delhi, March 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a record as the longest-serving elected head of government in Indian political history. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah have extended their congratulations on this remarkable milestone. They described the Prime Minister as a symbol of service, hard work, and unwavering commitment.

Home Minister Amit Shah took to X to express, “A milestone built on the foundation of service, hard work, and unwavering commitment. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has surpassed the record of 8,930 days held by former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, becoming the longest-serving head of government in India. His 8,931 days in public life, first as Chief Minister of Gujarat and now as Prime Minister, reflect his nation-first governance, integrity in actions, and deep commitment to the relentless service of every citizen. This is a rare legacy built on unprecedented trust and unique service.”

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also congratulated PM Modi, stating on X, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become a leader serving as the head of government in India. It is noteworthy that Narendra Modi is the 14th and current Prime Minister of India, having been in office since May 26, 2014. He took the oath of office for the third time in June 2024. Modi is the first non-Congress Prime Minister to win three consecutive terms, securing his place among the longest-serving Prime Ministers with over 4,000 days in office.
