The Demand for Skilled Actors Remains Strong, Says Hiten Tejwani

Mumbai, March 24: The entertainment industry is rapidly evolving in the digital age. With the rise of social media, influencers are increasingly entering films and web shows. Many high-profile projects now feature faces that were previously confined to social media. This trend raises concerns about whether professional and trained actors will face fewer opportunities. In an interview, renowned television actor Hiten Tejwani shared his insights on this topic.

Hiten Tejwani stated, “I don’t believe that influencers can replace actors. If a character requires strong acting, makers will choose the artist who can do justice to that role. Acting is a skill that needs to be learned and understood, and it’s not something everyone can master.”

Explaining the workings of the film and television industry, Hiten noted, “During shooting, time is often limited. Therefore, makers need artists who can deliver better performances in a short time. If a project is based on a deep and powerful story, experienced and talented actors are prioritized.”

He added, “Whether or not to work on a project depends on the artist’s own decision. Every actor chooses projects based on their preferences and the script, so it’s inaccurate to say that one group will completely take over another’s work.”

Hiten emphasized that both influencers and trained actors have their significance in the industry. “If a project features a popular face, it helps reach a wider audience, but having skilled and experienced actors is equally important to strengthen the story,” he explained.

He particularly praised artists coming from theater and acting backgrounds, stating, “Such artists bring depth and authenticity to their characters through their experience and understanding, making the story more impactful.”
