Cristiano Ronaldo Works Hard on Fitness, Boosting World Cup Hopes

New Delhi, March 23: Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo faced questions about his fitness, raising doubts about his participation in the upcoming World Cup. However, the star player has shared a positive update on social media regarding his fitness journey.

The Portuguese icon posted a picture of himself working on his training and recovery, indicating that his return is imminent. Following this post, the likelihood of Ronaldo playing in the FIFA World Cup 2026 has increased, much to the delight of his fans.

Ronaldo has been sidelined since late February due to a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Al Nassr. He was ruled out of friendly matches against Mexico and the United States in March. Portugal’s head coach, Roberto Martinez, stated that this decision was made as a precaution to avoid a long-term injury.

Portugal will face Mexico on March 28 at the Estadio Azteca. Following that, the team will clash with the United States on March 31 in Atlanta. The team management has decided to carefully manage the players’ workload, which is why Bernardo Silva has also been given rest.

Signs indicate that Ronaldo will be fully fit by the time the World Cup kicks off in June. At 41 years old, he is attempting to play in the World Cup for a record sixth time. Throughout his career, he has won nearly every major title, but the World Cup has eluded him thus far.

Ronaldo’s goal is to secure a World Cup victory for Portugal, and he remains active in pursuit of this dream. He has scored 143 goals in 226 matches for Portugal.
