Controversy Erupts Over Kharges Remarks on PM Modi, BJP Responds Strongly

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharges comments about PM Modi spark backlash from BJP, highlighting ongoing political tensions.

New Delhi, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : A recent event in New Delhi has ignited a political firestorm following comments made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The remarks, made during a program in Patna, have prompted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to announce protests in response.

BJP’s Uttar Pradesh President Pankaj Chaudhary condemned Kharge’s comments, which he deemed disrespectful to Modi’s father. He emphasized that such remarks should be universally denounced. Chaudhary also pointed out that Congress leaders have previously made inappropriate comments about Modi’s family, suggesting a pattern of disrespect.

“This is not a mistake but a calculated strategy,” Chaudhary stated. He argued that the Congress party is struggling to regain its footing with the public and resorts to such remarks to attract attention. He assured that the electorate is observing these actions and will respond accordingly.

Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad echoed these sentiments, labeling Kharge’s remarks as shameful. He questioned whether Congress has sunk to such lows, given its history of losing elections and attacking democratic institutions. Prasad criticized the party for its attempts to undermine the integrity of the electoral process and constitutional bodies.

Bihar BJP leader Mrityunjay Tiwari took a more personal approach, suggesting that Kharge’s age might be affecting his judgment. He criticized the Congress party for its inability to stage successful movements and called for an apology from Kharge, warning that failure to do so could lead to the party’s downfall.

BJP leader Shazia Ilmi questioned the motives behind Kharge’s comments, asking if there was a personal vendetta against Modi. She expressed concern over the negative language used against Modi’s family, arguing that such behavior is unacceptable in political discourse.

In defense of Kharge, Congress Rajya Sabha member Pawan Khera claimed that BJP members have repeatedly disrupted Kharge’s speeches, citing an incident in Bihar where a BJP worker made disrespectful remarks. Khera responded firmly, stating that while Modi may remain in power, the ideological parent of his governance, the RSS, will not. He emphasized that Kharge, as a senior leader, deserves respect and that the repeated disrespect towards him is troubling for the nation.

This incident highlights the ongoing tensions between the Congress and BJP, reflecting the deeply polarized nature of Indian politics today.
