Congress Questions Lawrence Bishnois Influence from Sabarmati Jail
Sachin Sawant challenges the governments handling of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, questioning his operations from jail.

Mumbai, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant has launched a strong critique against both the central and Maharashtra governments regarding gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s operations from Sabarmati Jail. He raised concerns about how Bishnoi can manage such a vast empire while incarcerated. Sawant noted that police officers are still referring to him as “Lawrence Bishnoi Sahib.”
In his statements, Sawant highlighted recent violent incidents in Maharashtra, including the murder of Baba Siddique and threats against numerous Bollywood stars and producers. He pointed out that the same gang is repeatedly implicated in these cases. The recent attack involving actor Tiger Shroff has raised further questions, as the police have not taken him into custody. “Why is he being protected? What is the hidden agenda?” he demanded.
Sawant emphasized that today’s gangsters openly claim responsibility for attacks and align themselves with Bishnoi, who remains in jail. He questioned how this is possible and demanded accountability from the government. “Does the government have a strategy? Are they hiding behind gangsters?” he asked.
He criticized Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, stating that Rijiju only echoes Prime Minister Modi’s words and lacks credibility. He pointed out that neither Modi nor Amit Shah has provided answers in Parliament regarding the orders given during the Jantar Mantar incident, where children were harmed. “They avoid questions and do not face the media,” he added.
Sawant expressed disappointment over the government’s treatment of the opposition, stating that they do not respect democratic values. He called on the government to honor the demands of the opposition and fulfill its responsibilities in running Parliament. “This is a mockery of democracy,” he asserted.
He further claimed that the ongoing political rhetoric indicates a power struggle within the ruling coalition. “They have not united for public service but for power,” he said, predicting that the outcome of their ambitions will be determined by the next government in 2029.
“The BJP should answer to the public,” Sawant concluded, suggesting that the people will respond at the polls. He warned that the political dynamics within the coalition are fraught with tension, driven not by ideology but by the pursuit of power.
