Congress President Kharge Stresses Importance of India Block Rally to Raise Public Awareness
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge emphasizes the significance of the upcoming India Block rally to combat electoral fraud and awaken public consciousness.

New Delhi, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced on Thursday that the upcoming India Block rally, scheduled for November 1 at Delhi’s Ramleela Maidan, will proceed as planned. He stated that opposition parties have taken it upon themselves to awaken the public against what he described as an autocratic regime.
Kharge’s remarks came after several business organizations urged Rahul Gandhi to reconsider the timing of the opposition’s “March to Delhi.” The Congress-led India Block is organizing this march in response to alleged electoral fraud and irregularities highlighted by the Election Commission’s SIR exercise.
Speaking to reporters, Kharge said, “Our protest continues due to the electoral fraud and the irregularities caused by Gyanesh Kumar in the Election Commission. We are fighting against this and will persist. All parties are supporting us.”
He emphasized that this struggle is aimed at raising awareness among the public about the government’s misdeeds and efforts to deprive many voters of their rightful entitlements.
“Tomorrow, there will be a symbolic parliament, and on November 1, we will host an event where people from across the country will gather. We will fight because in a democracy, people will not awaken unless we fight. That is why we are doing all this,” he added.
Recently, Delhi’s business community expressed concerns about the potential negative impact of such a large rally during the festive season, requesting its postponement. They warned that it could harm the business environment and adversely affect their livelihoods.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, called on citizens to participate in the protest at Ramleela Maidan, describing it as a movement to “save democracy, prevent alleged electoral fraud, and protect the Constitution.”
In a video message posted on his X account, Gandhi stated that this march is not for any particular party but for the preservation of India’s soul. He also urged student groups from all political parties to join in, claiming that democratic freedoms and personal expression are under threat.
