Mumbai, June 29: Congress leader Hussain Dalwai has sharply criticized the Maharashtra government regarding the recent TET paper leak. He pointed out that this follows the earlier NEET paper leak, highlighting a troubling trend in the state. “Such incidents were rare in Maharashtra before,” he remarked.
In a conversation, Dalwai expressed concerns about the rampant pursuit of wealth and better living standards. He accused the current government of wanting to cling to power at any cost. “There is no control over departments; everyone is just focused on making money,” he stated.
Addressing suspicious activities during Muharram in Mumbai, Dalwai called it a serious issue. He emphasized the need to identify those responsible, noting that it is not necessarily linked to the Muslim community. “The atmosphere in society has become such that taking a life seems easier,” he added.
Commenting on a recent murder in a Mumbai local train, he lamented that people are unwilling to take responsibility, leading to a lack of intervention. “We need to change the atmosphere,” he insisted, urging the government to pay attention to these issues. He criticized the government for allegedly buying off legislators and leaders, which he believes has fueled a race to become wealthy.
Regarding former U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit, Dalwai suggested that if the U.S. benefits from India, Trump will return repeatedly. “We should consider why he is coming here. Towers are being built in his name; soon, homes will follow. Are there no builders here? He must have some vested interest,” he remarked.
On the controversy surrounding donations for the Ram Temple, he referred to Uddhav Thackeray’s comments, noting that Thackeray was previously aligned with the BJP. “He should acknowledge that Balasaheb Thackeray’s decision to ally with the BJP was a mistake. They shifted focus from Marathi issues to Hindutva,” Dalwai concluded, welcoming any corrections being made in this regard.
