Kolkata, August 20: The Congress party has initiated an ‘Organization Creation’ campaign to strengthen its presence in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) and in preparation for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. Two meetings were held on Thursday to discuss the campaign’s objectives. The initiative aims to raise public awareness and outline the next steps in the process.
Criticizing the West Bengal BJP government, Congress leader Vikaar Rasool Wani stated, “This government came to power through two means. Firstly, they stole votes via SIR. Secondly, you have never seen the BJP spreading as much hatred as they have here. Those who come to power through fraud ultimately fail. They have openly stolen votes. The Almighty will ensure their failure. The people of India and West Bengal know that the BJP came to power through vote theft and spreading hatred. This government is a failure.”
Regarding the national anthem, he asserted that it was the Congress members who have upheld it, not the BJP. “This is not my agenda,” he added. On the ‘Organization Creation’ campaign, the Congress leader mentioned, “I have come to appoint a district president. Our task is to gather all district workers to raise awareness about the ‘Organization Creation’ campaign, including how to fill out forms, how to meet, and how to participate in programs. Today (Thursday), we held two meetings. Meetings will be conducted by combining two districts. After providing all the information, we will distribute forms and subsequently visit the assembly and block levels.”
He further explained that they will listen to the people’s concerns at the block and assembly levels, distribute forms, and meet with their representatives. Later, candidate interviews will be conducted. Afterward, a panel will be submitted to Delhi. The team in Delhi will finalize the candidates after reviewing the panel.
