Congress Leaders Anticipate Over One Million at India Block Rally in Delhi, Dismiss Concerns for Traders
Congress leaders assert that the upcoming rally in Delhi will attract over one million attendees, aiming to protect democracy, not harm traders.

New Delhi, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions are rising ahead of the India Block rally scheduled for November 1 at Delhi’s Ramleela Maidan. BJP leaders have voiced concerns about potential disruptions for local businesses and residents due to the event. In response, Congress leaders have countered these claims, asserting that the rally aims to benefit rather than harm the business community.
Congress MP Chintala Kiran Kumar Reddy emphasized that the rally, themed “Save Your Vote,” is a call for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He expressed that if Parliament had adequately discussed this matter, the current situation could have been avoided. Reddy noted that supporters from across the nation are expected to attend.
MP Pawan Khera also predicted attendance exceeding one million, highlighting the vastness of Delhi’s heart. He questioned the logic behind the BJP’s concerns, pointing out that a previous rally held by BJP President Nitin Naveen did not harm traders when the market was open. Khera insisted that the preparations for the event are thorough and that the commitment of Congress workers will be evident despite the rainy weather.
Congress MP Karmaveer Singh Bauddh criticized the BJP government, claiming it has undermined constitutional institutions. He stressed that the Constitution is in jeopardy and that the rally is crucial for its preservation. Bauddh reassured that traders are valued allies, stating that the rally’s intent is not to cause them harm but to protect democracy.
Uttar Pradesh Congress President Aradhna Mishra Mona addressed concerns regarding potential losses for traders, asserting that the rally is essential for safeguarding democracy and the Constitution. She framed it as a call to action from Rahul Gandhi and the India Alliance, stating that it has transformed into a people’s movement.
Congress leader Rajendra Pal Gautam noted that the rally coincides with a Sunday, a day when nearby markets are typically closed. He argued that the influx of attendees would actually boost local commerce, dismissing claims of potential losses as misinformation spread by BJP-affiliated traders. Gautam invited all traders, especially those not aligned with BJP’s narrative, to join in the historic rally.
Naseem Khan, another Congress leader, argued that the rally would ultimately benefit traders, as the expected 800,000 to one million attendees would likely engage in shopping and festivities during the Diwali season. He suggested that only a few individuals are causing alarm on behalf of the BJP.
Overall, Congress leaders are confident that the India Block rally will be a significant event, marking a collective effort to defend the Constitution and democratic rights. They look forward to welcoming participants from all corners of the country.
