New Delhi, May 30: BJP Rajya Sabha member Ghulam Ali Khatana has sharply criticized the ongoing political developments within the Karnataka Congress, the ‘Vande Mataram’ controversy in Kerala, and Rahul Gandhi’s recent meeting with auto drivers.
Khatana stated that the Congress party is currently experiencing a significant leadership crisis. He accused the party of being dominated by leadership arrogance and nepotism, which has led to the departure of many seasoned leaders.
He remarked, “The Congress is in a leadership crisis. Numerous leaders who have dedicated 50 years to the party have left. The party is rife with leadership arrogance and family interference.”
Regarding the political situation in Karnataka, he expressed that the current events are highly unfortunate. Khatana emphasized that the public had given a mandate for development, but Congress is misusing that mandate.
On the controversy surrounding ‘Vande Mataram’ in the Kerala Assembly, he insisted that the national anthem and song should be fully respected and sung in its entirety. The issue arose during the first session of Kerala’s new assembly when the Congress-led UDF government only played two stanzas of ‘Vande Mataram’ before Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar’s address, prompting a strong objection from the governor.
Additionally, Khatana criticized Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, for his meeting with auto drivers in Delhi. He stated, “When the public rejects you, frustration increases. While hard work is commendable, the opposition must play a responsible role.”
He also took a jab at Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that he has often been seen aligning with the country’s adversaries. Notably, Gandhi met with auto drivers at Todarmal Park in Bengali Market, Delhi, on Friday to listen to their concerns.
