CM Yogi Criticizes Samajwadi Partys Governance in Uttar Pradesh
CM Yogi Adityanath condemns Samajwadi Party for past governance failures while announcing new development projects in Gonda.

Gonda, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sharply criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP), claiming that every time the party has come to power, it has brought devastation to the state. Speaking at an event in Gonda on November 2, he highlighted the history of riots, curfews, and rising crime during SP’s rule. He noted that disturbances often occurred before festivals, jeopardizing the safety of women and traders.
Adityanath asserted that under the current government, riots and curfews have become a thing of the past. He emphasized that people are now celebrating festivals without fear. He accused the SP and Congress of sheltering criminals, contrasting their approach with the BJP’s commitment to change and respect for faith.
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for 69 development projects worth over ₹520 crore, focusing on roads, education, and infrastructure. He also distributed checks and approval letters to beneficiaries of various schemes. Adityanath recounted how previously, worshippers faced opposition for celebrating Hindu festivals, but now, the situation has changed significantly.
This year, he noted, 67,000 Durga idols were installed across the state during Navratri without interference. He recalled the violent events of November 2, 1990, when the then-government fired on Ram devotees in Ayodhya, contrasting this with the BJP’s support for the construction of the Ram Temple.
Adityanath pointed out that development is no longer limited to a select few areas, as projects now reach all 75 districts. In Gonda alone, over ₹16,000 crore has been approved in the last nine years, with significant investments arriving in 2023. He mentioned improvements in local infrastructure, including medical colleges and roads, which were once in disrepair.
The Chief Minister announced plans to provide one lakh government jobs in six months, with 12,000 to 15,000 positions already filled. He highlighted the upcoming recruitment of police constables and home guards, emphasizing the government’s commitment to employment.
He also mentioned that over 9.5 lakh youths have secured government jobs under his administration. Adityanath promised direct recruitment for Agniveers returning after four years of service, alongside positions for medal-winning athletes. He warned that anyone jeopardizing the safety of women and traders would face severe consequences.
Adityanath concluded by stating that the era of mafia interference in development is over, and local employment opportunities are set to increase. Initiatives to boost farmers’ incomes through compressed biogas projects are underway, alongside the development of significant religious sites.
Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh criticized the SP for its previous governance, accusing it of fostering a mafia raj, while highlighting improvements in electricity, ration distribution, and women’s safety under the current administration.
