Raipur, August 15: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort. During his speech, he touched upon the issues of Naxalism and the Naxalite mindset. In response to the Prime Minister’s remarks, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Saye stated that significant progress has been made in eliminating Naxalism from the country. He emphasized that some individuals still adhere to Naxalite ideologies, and there is a need to eradicate them as well.
In a media interaction in Raipur, CM Saye remarked that substantial work has been accomplished in the country. He noted that Naxalism is nearly eradicated, thanks to the double-engine government, the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, and the support of security forces. He expressed that it once seemed impossible to eliminate Naxalism, but success has been achieved. However, he reiterated the necessity to eliminate the remaining ideologically driven individuals.
Additionally, CM Saye participated in the Independence Day celebrations. He extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the people of Chhattisgarh on this significant occasion. The state celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm, particularly in Raipur, where a grand event took place. The Public Relations Department organized an exhibition at the Town Hall, showcasing information about Chhattisgarh’s freedom fighters through photographs. This year, the department made considerable efforts to gather and display images and details of many freedom fighters from Chhattisgarh.
He further stated that this national festival of Independence Day is a sacred opportunity to draw inspiration from our glorious history and to strengthen our resolve for national service. Let us make the spirit of ‘Nation First’ the foundation of all our efforts. We must commit ourselves to contribute fully to building a self-reliant, prosperous, and developed India while maintaining the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the nation.
On another note, Deputy CM Arun Saw hoisted the flag at the First Battalion Chhattisgarh Armed Force in Bhilai District on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day. He saluted the courage and valor of our brave soldiers dedicated to the defense of the motherland during a grand parade.
