Chinese Snowboarder Su Yiming Wins Bronze at Winter Olympics

Beijing, February 8: In a thrilling showdown at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, Chinese snowboarder Su Yiming clinched the bronze medal in the men’s big air final on Sunday. This marks the first medal for the Chinese delegation at these Winter Games.

A total of 12 athletes competed in the men’s snowboarding big air final, with Su Yiming performing in ninth place. In the first round, he executed a stunning frontside 1980 indie grab, earning an impressive score of 88.25, which placed him in second position.

During the second round, Su attempted a backside 1980 indie grab but faced a slight landing error, resulting in a score of 73.75. Despite this, he maintained his second-place standing with a cumulative score of 162 points.

In the third and final round, he faced the pressure head-on, scoring 80.25 points and securing the bronze medal with a total of 168.5 points.

The gold medal was awarded to Coleman Veding from the United States, while Canada’s Mark McMorris took home the silver.

From Beijing to Milan-Cortina, Su Yiming has now won three medals in total: one gold, one silver, and one bronze across two Winter Olympic Games.
