
Beijing, July 15: The China-South Asia and Southeast Asia Media Roundtable Conference took place in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, China. The event was hosted by the All China Journalist Association and organized by the Yunnan Provincial Center for International Communication in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
Over 40 media representatives, journalists, and experts from ten countries, including Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam, gathered to discuss the theme “Asian Narratives and Media Cooperation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”
Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence technology in media communication. They explored how to effectively tell Asian stories and promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
During the conference, the All China Journalist Association and the Yunnan Provincial Center for International Communication jointly launched the “China-South Asia and Southeast Asia News Compilation Campaign.” This initiative invites outstanding works from regional journalists that reflect friendly cooperation and development among various countries from 2026 to 2027. The results of the selection will be announced at the 2027 annual meeting of the South Asia and Southeast Asia Media Alliance.
