China Leads the World in AI Development and Application, Says National Development and Reform Commission
Chinas AI development is at the forefront globally, with major advancements in various sectors, according to the National Development and Reform Commission.

Beijing, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : The National Development and Reform Commission of China announced on November 3 that the country is leading the world in artificial intelligence (AI) development and application. During a press conference, officials highlighted plans to expand the ‘AI+’ program throughout the 15th Five-Year Plan period, which runs from 2026 to 2030, ensuring broader applications across various scenarios.
In the industrial sector, China has established over 10,000 advanced smart factories. The agricultural sector has also seen a significant reduction in pesticide and fertilizer usage, while farm management has become more precise. In the service sector, AI is increasingly utilized in finance, logistics, and foreign trade. AI agents can autonomously perform tasks such as contract reviews, customs declarations, tax payments, and insurance claim evaluations, paving the way for new business models and innovations.
Moreover, AI has greatly reduced barriers to disease screening. Over 8,000 primary healthcare institutions in China are now connected to cloud-based AI imaging services, resulting in substantial improvements in diagnostic efficiency.
During the 15th Five-Year Plan, China will continue to focus on promoting technological innovation through practical applications and expanding the ‘AI+’ program.
