New Delhi, March 15: U.S. President Donald Trump announced preparations for deploying warships to the Hormuz Strait. He urged other nations to join this initiative. In response, both China and Britain have expressed their positions regarding Trump’s appeal.
Neither China nor Britain confirmed plans to send warships to the Strait. A spokesperson from the Chinese embassy in Washington did not clarify whether the country intends to deploy naval assets in the region.
The spokesperson stated to CNN that China demands an immediate cessation of hostilities and emphasizes the responsibility of all parties to ensure stable and uninterrupted energy supplies.
The statement concluded, “As a true friend and strategic partner of Middle Eastern countries, China will continue to strengthen dialogue with involved parties and play a constructive role in reducing tensions and restoring peace.”
Similarly, a spokesperson from the UK Ministry of Defence mentioned that the UK is currently discussing various options with its allies and partners to ensure the security of shipping in the area.
Recently, President Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Many countries, especially those affected by Iran’s attempts to close the Hormuz Strait, will send warships to work with the U.S. to keep the Strait open and secure. We have already eliminated 100% of Iran’s military capability, but it is still easy for them to send one or two drones, drop mines, or launch close-range missiles in this waterway, no matter how badly they have lost.”
Trump further stated, “I hope that China, France, Japan, South Korea, Britain, and other countries affected by this artificial blockade will send ships to the region so that the Hormuz Strait is no longer threatened by a country whose head has been completely decimated. Somehow, we will soon keep the Hormuz Strait open, safe, and free.”
Additionally, President Trump made a significant claim in a social media post on Saturday. He stated on Truth Social that Iran’s plan was to take over the entire Middle East and completely destroy Israel. Like Iran, those plans are now also finished.
