Central Budget a Strong Step Towards Developed India 2047: Babulal Marandi

Ranchi: Babulal Marandi, Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly and senior BJP leader, described the Union Budget presented on Sunday as a strong and visionary step towards achieving the goal of a “Developed India 2047“. He said the budget’s overall approach is aimed at accelerating economic growth and creating new employment opportunities across the country.

Speaking to the media at the BJP state office after the budget speech concluded, Marandi highlighted that the budget clearly focuses on increasing the income of common people. He emphasized that job creation, promotion of industries, and investment in social sectors will strengthen the nation’s economy.

He noted that expanding economic activities will provide employment opportunities for youth and empower the vision of a self-reliant India. Marandi appreciated the budget provisions related to the pharmaceutical industry and medical tourism, calling it an important initiative to make India a hub for drug manufacturing. This will not only generate large-scale employment but also increase foreign exchange earnings.

Marandi pointed out that reducing the cost of medicines for diseases including cancer will directly benefit the general public, especially the poor and middle class. He described the plan to promote medical tourism as particularly beneficial for Jharkhand, given the state’s ample health services and resources. He said that becoming a medical tourism hub will boost investment, employment, and infrastructure development in Jharkhand.

He also praised the launch of the Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj initiative aimed at promoting khadi, handloom, and handicrafts, calling it a step rooted in historic thinking. Marandi explained that just as Mahatma Gandhi used the spinning wheel to raise public awareness, strengthening the domestic textile industry can empower the rural economy.

Marandi called the proposal to establish 200 industrial corridors a milestone for industrial development. He welcomed the announcement of building hostels for girls in every district, terming it a major step towards social empowerment. He also noted that the budget’s attention to the needs and facilities for persons with disabilities makes it inclusive.
